Annual Appeal 2017

Dear Friends of Historic Fair Hill,

With your help, we are sharing the historic site and working with partners to increase health and literacy in our struggling city neighborhood.

This year in seven gardens, 25 neighborhood and HFH gardeners produced 1350 pounds of fresh organic fruits and vegetables for the community. Many more visited and enjoyed the food. In our local public school, we reopened and now run a school library that welcomes 450 children and checks out 500 books/ week to take home. 30 reading volunteers read with 200 struggling readers who make over a year’s growth in reading.

We pay stipends to seven parents as classrooms assistants in K-2 to give students and teachers more help. We offer ESL classes to school parents during the school day with a babysitter.

Your gift pays for this very direct work for health and education. This fall campaign will offer a match for every new donation and every increased donation. Please be as generous as you can be.

With thanks,

Jean, Baird, Sally, Jean, Phil, Hollister
