Historic Fair Hill’s mission is to:
1) preserve our historic Quaker burial ground, and assure that its history and the ideals of the people interred there continue to speak to the world, and
2) act as a collaborative partner in the revitalization of the Fairhill community through school partnerships for literacy, greening, and community engagement events.
History
As a national historic site, we maintain and welcome visitors to the burial ground of great abolitionists and early women’s rights leaders.
Community Events
As a gathering and educational center, we host field trips, youth internship programming, and family friendly events.
Early Literacy
As a community partner for literacy, we support our Fairhill elementary schools by re-opening and staffing school libraries, providing reading buddies, hiring parents as classroom assistants, and offering family literacy workshops.
Greening
As a center for community gardens and greening, we teach young people the skills of growing food and partner in seven gardens and street tree planting.
